
Dominique Pablito
Zuni Pueblo, Diné, and Comanche
Dominique is a Ph.D. Candidate at Brown University in the Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, and Biochemistry Department. She grew up on the Navajo Reservation in Aneth, Utah, and the Zuni Reservation in Zuni, New Mexico. She graduated high school at the age of 15 and from the University of Utah at the age of 20 with a bachelor’s in chemistry. Dominique has trained at Harvard Medical School, Massachusetts General Hospital, and Harvard University School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. She has received over 30 academic and research awards, including the National Science Foundation’s Graduate Research Fellowship and the Hope Scholar Award from Harvard Medical School. After her Ph.D., Dominique will continue her training to become a physician-scientist to practice obstetrics and gynecology on the Navajo or Zuni reservation. She hopes to use her cultural insight and training to create a cultural-based birthing program that can be implemented at Indian Health Services serving Zuni and Navajo communities.
